Customer service is at the heart of every business, and we know it takes a huge amount of effort to make every single customer’s experience positive. This award recognises and celebrates the amazing people who consistently offer outstanding levels of customer service.
The judges were impressed with all the finalists, but Neal Montgomery was selected as our worthy winner. For the last 20 years, Neal has worked rain or shine, over and above the hours he is employed for, doing tasks that are not universally popular, with care and diligence. Despite additional needs of his own, Neal stood out for his enduring and dedicated service to his team and his customers.
Neal was nominated by his colleagues at Waitrose St Saviour, who wanted the opportunity to say a simple but heartfelt ‘thank you’ for over 20 years of him going the extra mile. We caught up with Neal to hear what it meant to him to win this year's Award in his own words, perfectly summarising the importance of good customer service to us all.
I feel great and happy to win this award, customers tell me I do a great job.
To make our customers happy.
To always do your best and greet our customers with a big smile.
I have worked in this role for over 20 years and will continue to work hard in my job.
I plan to spend my prize money on a trip to Scotland to see my family.
